Provides discovery, on-the-job training, job coaching, and long-term job supports to individuals with disabilities receiving services in community employment. Provides business development . Acts as a liaison between client, employer, and funding source..
JOB REQUIREMENTS Desired Education and Experience
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience in the field of disabilities (cross-disability), human services, social work; or
Relevant experience, on a year-for-year basis, or credentialing that substitutes for the educational requirement; AND
Completes the Marc Gold & Associates certification for Discovery, Job Development & Systematic Instruction within one (1) year of the date of hire.
Ability to communicate orally, in writing, and electronically
Must be able to multi-task and maintain professionalism
Understand Supported Employment, funding sources, social security benefits, and job coaching
Computer proficient and able to independently navigate new computer programs and job application platforms, organized, and dependable.
Valid CO Driver’s License and personal vehicle
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess skills, interests, abilities, etc. to write a comprehensive vocational profile (PCEP)
Assist job seekers with applications and other job search tasks (Conduct job development and job search activities)
Transport consumers to job interviews
Prepare written and/or electronic reports daily and/or monthly depending on the requirements of the funding source
Establish and nurture relationships with community resources and provide on-the-job supports to the client and potential employers
Business development of potential employers
Communicate with clients, families, co-workers, and employers effectively
Focus on a consumer’s strengths and encourage independence, job coaching as necessary
Ability to negotiate job accommodations and provide long-term supports on the job
Ensure compliance as required with funding sources, i.e., Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Supported Living Services Waiver (SLS), and Development Disabilities Waiver (DD)
Works with managers and co-workers to educate on disability awareness
Reinforces employability skills and interpret work culture
Assists in training in interview process in order to gain competitive positions
Learns the employment duties and makes any modifications (label cabinets, simplifies written
instructions, etc.) necessary to the successful completion of the job
Attends job orientation with the client and clarifies information with the client as necessary
Coordinates travel training for clients to learn to utilize public transportation
Teaches safe practices according to the work environment
Models appropriate workplace behavior
Works with manager to determine new skills as client gains competencies and confidence
Meets with the manager and/or peer mentor regularly to discuss issues and solve problems
Assesses clients progress and gives feedback
